Clinical Examination In Medicine Today

Why is Clinical Examination so important? This webinar will discuss the importance of clinical examination as the cornerstone of patient assessment,  learning a system based approach to integrated assessment and why expert examination skills remain relevant today. Dr Euan Sandilands

Dr Euan Sandilands BSc (Hons) MD FRCPE PGCert MedEd. Euan completed medical training at the University of Edinburgh in 2003. After developing an early interest in pharmacology, took up a specialist training clinical toxicology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

In 2012, Euan became a Consultant Toxicologist with the National Poisons Information Service (Edinburgh) and a Consultant Physician and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and University of Edinburgh.

In 2016 he took up the position of Director of the Edinburgh unit of the National Poisons Information Service.

He is actively involved in medical education and is currently Deputy Assessment Lead for the Edinburgh Medical School. Euan is also  co- author of Macleod's Essentials of Clinical Examination and Essentials of kumar & Clark's Clinical Medicine
