NETNEP has partnered with Discover Banff Tours, Banff's premier sightseeing tour and activity provider, to offer NETNEP delegates and accompanying partners a number of sightseeing tours and activities to make their stay in Banff even more enjoyable.

Activities have been organized for the evening of Monday, May 7 and the late afternoon/evening of Wednesday, May 9.

Monday, May 7, 19:00-21:00

  1. Evening Wildlife Safari

    As the sun sets behind the craggy peaks, the wildlife of Banff National Park become more active in the cool hours before dark. We see wildlife on 95% of our tours, so this is your best chance to get up close with some of Banff’s wildest residents.

    Your guide will lead a safari to the hotspots where you are most likely to see Rocky Mountain creatures. Grab your binoculars and spot an elk sauntering across a clearing, a mountain goat perched high on a ridge, and sometimes even a grizzly bear snuffling through a berry bush. You’ll also learn about how the park protects these animals and their natural habitat from many threats to the ecosystem.

  2. Tunnel Mountain Hike

    Hike up to the top of Banff's infamous Tunnel Mountain. Our experienced guide will teach you about the history of the area and lead you up to the viewpoint for sunset. We promise you won't be disappointed.

    Please ensure you bring a small backpack with water and extra room for your add-on snack (available for purchase at an additional CAD$14.50).

Wednesday, May 9

  1. Lake Louise Sightseeing – 16:30 – 19:30

    Discover the best highlights of the Bow Valley on this tour of Lake Louise. A Jewel-like lake nestled between sky-scraping peaks - Lake Louise will make you stop in your tracks in awe. Your guide will share historic tales of early exploration in Lake Louise while you snap photos of the sunlight glinting on the water.

  2. Banff Sightseeing with Gondola – 16:30 – 20:30
    This tour features the spray of cool waterfalls, an ascent up a mountain, a taste of local history and a chance to spy on wildlife. To start, feel the power of the Bow Falls and the beauty that surrounds it just below the Banff Springs Hotel. Continue exploring and snap picture postcard shots from some of the best views in town - Surprise Corner on Tunnel Mountain Drive, the Hoodoos (oddly shaped pillars of glacial rock), Mount Norquay’s winding road and Sulphur Mountain’s peak. Take the gondola up to the 7,500ft summit of Sulphur Mountain and enjoy the panoramic view of the entire Bow Valley.

    Your knowledgeable local guide will provide interesting tidbits and information on Banff’s rich natural and human history that has helped shaped the Bow Valley for millions of years.

  4. Hot Springs Pass

    The Banff Upper Hot Springs is one of Banff's most famous attractions; discovered in 1884, the hot springs were included in Banff National Park, the first National Park in Canada. Relax in the comfort of soothing, natural hot springs where travellers have come to "take the waters" for more than a century. Passes can be redeemed at any time.
