Meet the Advisory Board for the International Center for the Study of Research

The role of the Advisory Board is to provide the Center with robust, rigorous and contextual expert advice in the areas of research evaluation and research metrics and indicators. This includes identification of research needs to address critical information gaps, assessment of proposed future research actions and of research results.

The Advisory Board is comprised of experts in research metrics, indicators and research assessment practices selected to maximize diversity in terms of gender, geography, culture and research fields. In addition to up to four (4) standing members from Elsevier, up to twelve (12) members drawn from outside Elsevier will serve on the ICSR Advisory Board at any one time.

  • The ICSR Advisory Board is charged with:

  • Providing expert input on developing, characterizing and validating new and existing research metrics, indicators and research assessment practices

  • Advising on the selection of independent, external studies on topics within this scope to be supported

  • Ad hoc assessment and guidance on other matters of relevance to the ICSR
