Times Higher Education holds annual Times Higher Education World Academic Summit and a regular series of regional summits, and in 2018 the Times Higher Education the MENA Summit was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Middle East, regionally, has been focusing on scientific excellence, international collaborations, key research focus areas and attracting international students especially in the last decade and significantly improving.
Elsevier as the proud partner of THE, took part in two panel sessions during the Times Higher Education, the MENA Universities Summit in Jeddah. The Global partnership for success: how to forge successful international collaborations panel was hosted by the event host King Abdulaziz University, where Alicia Wise, Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Networks at Elsevier was present with Paris Sciences & Letters University, Trinity College Dublin, Southern University of Science & Technology.
M’hamed el Aisati, Vice President of Product Management Funding and Content Analytics at Elsevier took a part in Launch of the Times Higher Education 2018 Arab World University Rankings panel with Phil Baty the Editorial Director for Global Rankings and Nicki Horseman the Lead Higher Education Analyst for THE.
Elsevier’s Scopus data is Times Higher Education’s sole source of bibliometric citation data for its World University Rankings as well as the derived rankings, Times Higher Education’s editorial and conference team will continue to use Elsevier’s research benchmarking and analytics tool SciVal to identify subject matter experts for editorial purposes and potential speakers for its global summit series, and THE MENA Summit is one of the annual regional summits hosted in different countries representing Middle East every year.
