Learn more about Elsevier’s negotations with the University of California

We continue to work with the University of California to find a solution to research access

At Elsevier, we have been negotiating with the California Digital Library (CDL) since early 2018 to provide University of California students and researchers access to Elsevier’s subscription journal content. After our contract ended in December, we continued to provide access to UC campuses without payment while working to find a solution.

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to come to an agreement. Since CDL has not renewed its contract, we implemented its cancellation request in July. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we continue to work with our UC colleagues to find a solution.

To keep you informed of our progress, we have set up an informational page and FAQ: UC Digital Library and Elsevier.
