Rafat Siddique is a Senior Professor of Civil Engineering the Thapar University, Patiala, India. He received his doctorate in 1993 from BITS Pilani, and 22-months Post-doctoral Fellowship from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA. His one f the major thrust are in research is “Utilization of Waste Materials and Industrial By-products in Construction Materials and “Supplementary Cementing Materials. He is the author of over 120 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has published two books on Waste Materials and By-products and supplementary Cementing Materials by Springer (Germany). He is the Editor of Journal of Construction and Building Materials (Elsevier). He is an Associate Editor of ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering and Taylor & Francis Journal of Sustainable Cement-Based Materials. He in visiting/invited Professor to number of Universities in France, Germany, Finland, U.K., USA, Mexico, etc.

Paulo Cachim is an Associate Professor with Aggregation of Civil Engineering at University of Aveiro, Portugal. He received his doctorate in 2000 from University of Porto, Portugal. He is the author of over 30 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has published two books on timber and concrete (Portugal). His research interests include the use of recycled and waste materials in concrete, both as aggregate or supplementary cimentitious materials.
