Dr Anirban Mandal is Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), in India. He received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology. His research focusses on the design and construction of surface and sub-surface excavation projects, rock engineering, tunnelling, and soil dynamics. He has thirteen years’ research and extensive industry experience in the geotechnical field.
