Process plant engineers and managers don’t have an effective estimation system within companies that deliver on methods, data, and rules, and literature today explains estimation methods in general construction terms and examples. Industrial Construction Estimating Manual brings a necessary reference for engineers that work specifically in process plants. The unit quantity method described prepares estimates for process plants using computerized estimation, producing a reliable and detailed cost. Starting with the fundamentals on estimating and materials, the manual guides the reader through training on how to build and develop labor tables that can set up a database system and illustrate estimate worksheets using the unit quantity model. The manual progresses into automating the estimation spreadsheets into computerized estimating. Detailed examples of how to apply the model to various types of industrial process plants are included along with successfully completed applications. Rounding out with a chapter on bid assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability, Industrial Construction Estimating Manual provides process plant engineers and managers with the model, format, and data necessary to prepare effective plant estimates.
