Since childhood Dr. Steinschneider has been interested in general biology and chemistry, later on focusing more on plant and microbiology, genetics, and especially biochemistry. His professional education in biology is wide ranging including a BSc in organism level agriculture and a PhD in molecular biology. His practical involvement began in raising fruit crops and centred on molecular level research in various aspects of cell biology. He has taught in advanced undergraduate and graduate level courses at leading research universities in the US and abroad. For many years Dr. Steinschneider has been interested in collective behaviour of cellular constituents starting with multienzyme systems, and more recently other aspects of systems biology.
