Published: 30th June 1986 Editors: F. Adler
The second volume of this 15-nation study presents cross-national comparative findings from a major research project investigating work content, working conditions, worker attitudes and behaviour as they have been affected by the introduction of automated technology within the two socio-economic and political systems of Eastern Europe and Western Europe/the United States. While the authors do not seek to provide commonly agreed conclusions, their studies provide a valuable contribution to the debate on the determinism of technology and the importance of the socio-economic context.
