Dr. Sudhakar Y N is an Assistant Professor at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College (Autonomous). He received his doctorate in electrochemistry from Manipal University. He currently has 25 publications highlighting the study of biodegradable polymer electrolytes for supercapacitor and a book Electrochemical Capacitor (2015). His current interest includes the developing nanomaterials for energy devices.

    Environment friendly approach for energy

    Now a days there is a very high demand for the environment friendly means for livelihood. This book also deals with such a concept - BIOPOLYMER ELECTROLYTES. A very well written book giving all information regarding the electrolytes that has a biological basis. Since it has a biological origin, it is easily degraded in the environment as it serves as food for the decomposers, which break down the complex polymers into simpler forms. This book also reflects the bacterial, fungal and enzymatic modes of degradation of the biopolymers. So, this work will serve as the basis for the budding researchers to do advance research in the field, as well as the industries to bring such environment friendly technology into the market.

    This book has a variety of information clearly classified into different chapters. staring from "introduction of Biopolymer Electrolytes" it goes on explaining preparation of polymer electrolytes,biopolymers in solar and electrochemical cells. for the time being, it is a quality packed handy book. i wish the authors will bring the new editions by adding more and more updates .
