Luigi Ambrosio Editor

Luigi Ambrosio received the doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering (1982) from the University of Naples "Federico II'. He was a Research Associate at the University of Naples (1983-1985), Research Associate at University of Connecticut, USA (1985-1986), and Visiting Scientist at Kontron Medical Inc., USA (1985- 1988). From 1989 he was appointed at the Institute of Composite and Biomedical Materials, CNR, as Research Scientist (1989-2002), Senior Research Scientist (2002-2003) and Research Director (2003-today). From September 1997 to 2004 he was Adjunct Professor in Biomaterials at the University of Connecticut, USA and Treasurer of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB). He is a member of the Advisory Board and Guest Editor of International and National Scientific Journals, Council Member of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB), Vice-President of the Italian Society of Biomaterials (SIB), President of the Interdisciplinary Biomaterials Group of the Italian Chemical Society and Past-President of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB). He has been nominated as a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (March 2001), and Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering (May 2004).
