    A very useful book for practical application of geomechanics in petroleum engineering

    I was happy having an opportunity talking with Dr. Zhang at AAPG ACE 2019 about his new book Applied Petroleum Geomechanics. After several years' writing, Dr. Zhang made this great accomplishment based on his ~30 years of industrial experience in petroleum geomechanics. The book covers many critical aspects of the application of geomechanics theory to practical problems in the oil and gas industry, such as in-situ stress and pore pressure prediction, wellbore stability, hydraulic fracturing, and unconventionals. It's a book that really bridges the gap between the theoretical and practical sides of petroleum geomechanics. Highly recommended.
