Artwork & media instructions
Submitting your illustrations, figures and other artwork in an electronic format helps us produce your work to the best possible standards, ensuring accuracy, clarity and a high level of detail. We provide topical pages detailing how to format and submit artwork.
Metadata for XML articles and chapters
We provide a metadata package for our readers, which extracts metadata from a journal article or a book chapter and writes them as RDF data.
XML in science publishing
Elsevier's book and journal content is based on XML. XML stands for eXtensible Markup Language. XML documents are structured ("tagged") independently of the presentation in a way that can be extended by the developer of the XML standard that is used.
Elsevier XML DTDs and transport schemas
Our journal article, serials issue, book and enhancement fragment DTDs are open access material under the CC BY license.
