OHS EH&S Data Elements now available in Oracle® format

New release offers easier, more flexible management of safety, health and regulatory information for chemical substances

Nashville, TN and San Ramon, CA - August 15, 2007 - Elsevier MDL’s OHS business unit, a leading provider of EH&S data and services, has released the 3.0 version of the EH&S Data Elements database with Oracle® export files. The new format facilitates and accelerates the loading of reliable safety, health and regulatory information into Oracle databases for use with regulatory reporting, inventory management, OSHA/DOT hazards assessment and related business solutions required by companies that manufacture or use chemical compounds.

The 3.0 release enables integration with the MDL® Isentris® informatics system, with the MDL® Logistics inventory management system and with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, giving researchers and health professionals fast, easy access to critical safety and hazard information for chemical substances.

"With this latest release of the EH&S Data Elements, customers no longer have to write custom scripts to extract required safety data and then laboriously build Oracle tables to import the data," said Mary Rudolph, General Manager of Elsevier MDL OHS Products & Services. "The new Oracle export files give organizations a much improved, easier and more flexible way to manage access to restricted and controlled substances."

The OHS Data Elements database is updated quarterly and is available in ASCII and Oracle formats covering five types of safety information: substance identification, component identification for mixtures/preparations, physical property, regulatory and hazard assessment data. The database covers both Pure and Reference substances and is offered in US English, French and German.
