Director of Strategy
Gaby Appleton is Elsevier’s Director of Strategy. She is responsible for strategy development for Elsevier’s journals, books and electronic workflow solutions products, serving researchers, doctors, nurses, educators and governments. She also has responsibility for pricing and business model development, market and competitor intelligence, business delivery, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). She joined Elsevier in 2010.
Prior to working at Elsevier, Gaby was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company management consultants in London, where she served energy and non-profit clients on topics relating to resource sustainability and the economics of climate change, and consumer and pharmaceuticals companies on marketing and branding topics. She was also a sales rep at Procter & Gamble (P&G), and a brand manager at P&G and Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd.
She has a first class degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
