NEW JOURNAL FROM ELSEVIER – COMING IN FALL 2008

AESOP Emotion, Space and Society will provide a forum for interdisciplinary debate on theoretically informed research on the emotional intersections between people and places.

Emotion, Space & Society will publish its first issue in Fall 2008.

In conjunction with the launch of the journal, it is proposed to found a new academic society called Society for the Study of Emotion, Affect and Space (SSEAS) which shares the journal’s range of interests.

Elsevier’s Engineering Village Search Platform Combines The American Geological Institute’s Georef Database with Google Maps

Engineering Village, an Elsevier online search platform that provides database content and analysis for engineering researchers, announced today the addition of the American Geological Institute’s GeoRef database to its content offerings. In addition, the new GeoRef database and Engineering Village’s existing GeoBase database have both been ‘mashed-up’ with Google Maps to create a unique results mapping tool. Announcing the publication of an English edition of “China Population, Resources and Environment” which promotes sustainable development in China

Many ideas of this journal have been absorbed in governmental documents such as the China's Agenda 21, the Report of Chinese Sustainable Development and the China's Action Design of Sustainable Development in the Early 21st Century. Resources Policy

Resources Policy is an international journal devoted to mineral policy and economics. It is aimed at economists and decision makers in academia, government, and industry.

Traditional topics covered in the broad discipline of mineral economics include mineral market analysis, project evaluation, and monopoly and antitrust issues. This has spread more recently into areas such as mining and sustainable development, the resource curse, mineral wealth and corruption, the nature of mineral rents, mineral taxation and regulation, the rise of China and India major mineral consumers, and the impact of mineral development on local communities and indigenous populations. The Editor particularly invites submissions that analyse issues of public policy, economics, and business in the areas of mining, minerals, metals, and materials

Journal of Transport Geography
