Il Farmaco publishes scientific papers on various
aspects of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and, in general, Drug Research. Submitted papers are examined by Members of the Editorial
Board and accepted in the case of favourable comments. Papers are only published in the English language.
The Journal publishes:
Review Articles: these cover an important area of general interest, written by scientists who are active in research in that
given area. Original Articles: report results of an exhaustive study; they should contain new data and represent substantial
contributions to the fields of medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry. Rapid Preliminary Reports: are urgent preliminary publications
for rapid communication of new important results. These either cover an area of general interest or are of particular importance to the
specialist. New Compounds: report the preparation and characterisation of unique compounds, which although correctly designed
from a Medicinal Chemistry point of view, are biologically inactive. 15/9
