Editors' Virtual Forum: Colour Illustrations and Multimedia

Elsevier now publishes colour illustrations on ScienceDirect free of charge. For several months already, authors have been able to attach multimedia files to articles on ScienceDirect. Check the article" Colour Illustrations and Multimedia" for more information. How do you think making use of such features of online publishing can change the scholarly communication process? What new opportunities do you think could come out of using these new features? Will you recommend that your authors include colour illustrations/ multimedia as much as possible? Is there a need for this in your field? And will science in your field benefit from it?
