The uses of PET and PET/CT imaging in the diagnosis, staging, and follow-up of cancer continues to expand, and in this issue of PET Clinics, the use of positron emission tomography with regard to gastrointestinal cancer is reviewed. A general overview of PET/CT is provided along with an article on normal variants is provided. Imaging of esophageal and gastric, colorectal, pancreatic, liver and biliary duct as well as neuroendocrine tumors is covered. The issue is rounded out with articles on the use of PET/CT in the imaging of the pediatric patient and its use for evaluating response to treatment.
