Description
Plant virology is a relatively young scientific discipline that has developed rapidly in the last decades. Consequently, there appeared
an urgent need to prepare a dictionary that would include precise translations of equivalents in various languages.
In the general
part of this dictionary 2089 English entries are included. These entries, in addition to equivalents in the other four languages contain
an interpretation of every entry in extent of 2-4 lines in the English and Russian languages.
The special part of the dictionary contains
in five languages 2522 common names of the viroid, virus, mycoplasmic and rickettsial diseases of higher plants (Bryophyta, Pteridophyta
and Spermophyta). The order of diseases is given according to the contemporary scientific (Latin) names of the most important host plant.
