Description
EMBASE logo

EMBASE is a biomedical database produced by Elsevier. The database contains bibliographic records with citations, abstracts and indexing derived from biomedical articles in peerreviewed journals, and is especially strong in its coverage of drug and pharmaceutical research. EMBASE is current and updated daily on most platforms. Records appear in the database, on average, within two weeks of receipt of the original journal.

EMBASE covers nearly 5,000 active journals, of which nearly 2,000 are unique compared with MEDLINE. Each EMBASE record contains a full bibliographic citation, and over 80% have an abstract. In addition, all EMBASE records are indexed using EMTREE, Elsevier?s Life Science thesaurus, with an emphasis on comprehensive indexing of drugs and chemicals.

With its comprehensive, international and up-to-date coverage, EMBASE is an indispensable bibliographic database for researchers and information specialists who need to access the world's biomedical and drug literature. It is available via EMBASE.com as well as from the major online database distributors (vendors).
