Metadata for XML articles and chapters

On this page we make a metadata package available to our readers, which extracts metadata from a journal article or a book chapter and writes them as RDF data. The journal article must be an XML file according to one of Elsevier's Journal Article DTDs, versions 5.x.y . The book chapter must be an XML file according to one of Elsevier's Journal Article DTDs, versions 5.x.y (book series), or according to one of Elsevier's book DTDs, versions 5.x.y. The RDF data are data in the Dublin Core namespace and in the Prism 2 namespace.

If the issue or book project file is present, issue or book project information is included in the metadata. The issue file must be an XML file according to Elsevier's Journal Issue DTD, version 5.1.0. The book project file must be an XML file according to one of Elsevier's book DTDs, versions 5.x.y .

See the README file for more information. Contact the author, Simon Pepping, for questions, suggestions and contributions.

New in release 20090408: The script runs on journals and books alike, and now also on converted journal articles (DTD 4.5).
