Dynamic and rapid publication in Elsevier’s Personality and Social Psychology journals
Elsevier’s Personality and Social Psychology journals below will all offer more rapid publication from 2008. By having flexible-sized issues, many more articles will be published in the next available issue after acceptance, when they are ready to be published, and not have to wait for when there is space in future issues.
All 3 journals have multiple submission types (including briefer reports). Journal of Experimental Social Psychology is launching a new type of report – FlashReports - in 2008 to further aid rapid and succinct reporting. Please also see the information by the individual journals about specific initiatives and projects that are occurring within them.
Journal of Research in Personality
JRP operates, if appropriate, a streamlined review process in which authors may submit a peer-reviewed article that was rejected by any journal published by either the Association for Psychological Science (APS - formerly American Psychological Society) or the American Psychological Association (APA), and request an editorial decision on the basis of the prior reviews. Please see the guide for authors at www.elsevier.com/locate/jrp for complete details.
Journal of Experimental Social Psychology
The journal considers manuscripts in any of three sections. Articles have no restrictions on length. Reports may be no longer than 5000 words of text. New for 2008, FlashReports are brief reports of research whose word count must not be greater than 2500 words, and supplementary data material may also be submitted which will be published online only. Please see full instructions at www.elsevier.com/locate/jesp.
Personality and Individual Differences
Manuscripts should not exceed 5000 words including abstract, text, tables, references, and any additional material. Lengthier reviews or meta-analyses of exceptional quality will be considered for publication. Such papers will typically be no more than 10,000 words although longer papers may be submitted and will be considered at the discretion of the editors. Full details at: www.elsevier.com/locate/paid
