Elsevier is eager to investigate the possibilities of publishing book manuscripts such as monographs, collections of edited articles on a certain subject, proceedings of topical conferences, etc. You are invited to supply us with your proposal which should initially comprise of the following information:
- Title of the proposed book, possibly a descriptive subtitle and name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) and/or editor(s).
- Detailed list of contents of the proposed book and in the event of a contributed volume and/or a collection of edited articles, the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the individual article-author(s).
- Your estimate of the length of the book and the format of how the manuscripts can be delivered (preferably both an electronic file and a hard-copy).
- Summary of the book (maximum 400 words) and the complete introduction, if available.
- Description of the market of the proposed book: what type of readers, what level and which societies would they be members of.
The above information will be handled confidentially by us. However, we may seek advice from expert scientific advisors in addition to submitting your manuscripts to an editor of a book-series for which your manuscript might be appropriate. If you have any suggestions or preferences in this respect, we certainly would take them into account.

General Information for Editors and Authors
All material to be published by Elsevier is expected to be original work; it is explicitly not the intention to reproduce material previously published in books or journals. Naturally authors can draw upon and refer to their existing work.
Upon publication of each book editors and authors are entitled to receive complimentary copies of the books they have been editing and/or in which their contribution appears. The exact number of free copies as well as other arrangements, are subject to negotiation between the book editor/author and Elsevier.
