We are fortunate to be building on the substantial enhancement of quality and recognition of the journal that has been achieved during the last decade under the able leadership of outgoing Editor-in-Chief: (Americas) Ken Reifsnider, working with Regional Editors Neil James (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and Toshihiko Hoshide (Asia).
Elsevier would like to thank Ken for his contribution to the Journal and welcome incoming co-Editor David McDowell, who will be working alongside co-Editor Neil James to further strengthen the Journal, with Toshihiko Hoshide continuing as Regional Editor.
Professor Magnus Langseth became Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Impact Engineering on 1 January 2008, taking over from Professor Norman Jones who is stepping down after 20 years as Editor-in-Chief and 5 years prior to this as Editor. We would like to offer Norman our sincere thanks for his record of distinguished service to the Journal and are delighted that he has agreed to continue his association by remaining on the Board as Honorary Editor-in-Chief.
We would also like to announce the appointment of six Associate Editors Dr C.E. Anderson, Professor O.S. Hopperstad, Dr Q.M. Li, Professor V.P.W. Shim, Professor T. Wierzbicki and Professor T.X. Yu and the expansion of the Editorial Advisory Board.
These changes coincide with the implementation of electronic submission via the Journal's homepage. All prospective authors are now encouraged to submit papers to the Journal online at http://ees.elsevier.com/ie/.
