  • Virtual Special Issue commemorates the life and work of Professor William W. Cooper

    To commemorate the life and work of Professor William W. Cooper, we have partnered with Carnegie Mellon University to create a virtual special issue showcasing the research Professor William W. Cooper published with Elsevier over his illustrious career. Featuring a Foreword by Al Blumstein and Ramayya Krishnan, this is a very special virtual special issue.

    Widely considered a father of management science, Professor William W. Cooper is acredited with starting the field of Data Envelopment Analysis. Professor William W. Cooper served on the editorial board of European Journal of Operational Researchfor over 30 years. Find out more about the seminal role he played in the field of Operations Research by reading the heartfelt introduction to the virtual special issue, written by the journal's coordinating editor Roman Słowiński.

    This virtual special issue contains over 50 articles which we have made free for you to access online until May 4, 2015.
