NIMA Young Scientist Award
The journal Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics: Section A (NIMA) is very proud to congratulate Dr. Matthieu Heller (CERN) for receiving the NIMA Young Scientist Award. Dr. Heller received his award for the presentation "AX-PET - A novel PET concept with G-APD readout" at NDIP’11.

A special NIMA Young Scientist Award dedicated to Georges Charpak was presented to 2 outstanding scientists at MPGD 2011. The award was shared between Sverre Dørheim (Technische Universität München) for his talk on “A prototype GEM-TPC for PANDA” and Kiseki Nakamura (Kyoto University) for his talk on “Direction-sensitive dark matter search with MPGD”.

Recently presented at the Vienna Conference on Instrumentation 2010 [[http://vci.hephy.at/2010/]]
Jelena Ninkovic, PhD received her award for the best oral presentation in "The first measurements on SiPMs with bulk integrated quench resistors". Best poster presentation was awared to Gabriella Gaudio for "New results from the DREAM project".

NIMA Young Scientist Awards were presented at the 11th Pisa Meeting on Advanced Detectors http://www.pi.infn.it/pm/2009/ in Elba, Italy.

An Analytical Approach to Space Charge Distortions for Time Projection Chambers
Detailed study of the electrical field modifications induced by the accumulation of ions in the sensitive volume of TPCs, and of the resulting distortions in the ionization clusters drift affecting the track reconstruction accuracy.
