IChemE journals: Editors' choice virtual special issue
"To foster and develop the advancement of chemical engineering in all its branches" is the charter of the Institution of Chemical Engineers , which represents over 33,000 members worldwide. To this end, IChemE publishes four peer-reviewed journals: Chemical Engineering Research and Design, Process Safety and Environmental Protection, Food and Bioproducts Processing and Education for Chemical Engineers.
The journals, which are also the official journals of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), were first published as the Transactions of the Institution of Chemical Engineers in 1923. Since then they have seen continuous expansion and today they represent well over 2500 pages of the latest research across the full spectrum of chemical engineering research.
The benefits of rigorous peer review and our successful publishing partnership with Elsevier can be seen in the continuing improvement in the journals’ Impact Factors. We are pleased to note that in the 2010 Thomson Reuters Impact Factors, published in June 2011, ChERD rose to 1.519 (2009: 1.223); FBP to 1.207 (2009: 0.952) and PSEP to 1.453 (2009: 1.124).
We look forward to the continuation of this success and hope you will enjoy this virtual special issue.
