The Geological Society of London

Together, Elsevier and the Geological Society of London (GSL) have integrated over 52,000 geological maps from the renowned Lyell Collection into Geofacets. Each peer-reviewed map is downloadable, accompanied by metadata and provides source information including abstract and full-text PDF. Over 35,000 maps are georeferenced for easy integration into exploration projects. Newly published maps are continuously added for access to the latest information.

The Lyell Collection delivers a wealth of knowledge from the complete collection of GSL's journals, special publications and book series, and covers subject areas such as exploration geology, geophysics, geochemistry and petrophysics. Scientific insights derived from this research can be applied to the exploration of conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources.

This collaboration adds valuable content into Geofacets, including extensive regional coverage of Europe and Scandinavia, and further enhances research that can help geoscientists improve exploration success rates and hydrocarbon recovery. Watch the video and hear more about this collaboration from Elsevier, GSL and Industry Experts.
