Robert J. Kauffman Appointed to Role of Coordinating Editor, Norman Sadeh Steps Down

On January 1, 2008, Robert J. Kauffman, the W.P. Carey Chair in Information Systems at Arizona State University, took over as Coordinating Editor-in-Chief of ECRA. He replaces outgoing Coordinating Editor-in-Chief, Norman Sadeh, from the College of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University. Under Norman Sadeh's leadership, the journal has continued to improve its reputation for high quality research, special issues on interesting and important themes, and providing a strong foundation for publications involving interdisciplinary research in electronic commerce. Interested academics and industry professionals with appropriate background are encouraged to volunteer their time and join the editorial board -- and submit new research articles.

ECRA Receives ISI Accreditation

We are pleased to announce that ECRA has been accredited by ISI. The journal will be included in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), the Current Contents, Engineering, Computing & Technology (CC/ETC) index and the Current Contents Social & Behavioral Sciences (CC/SBS) index.

Impact factors, will be computed starting with volume 4. Because index factors are computed over a rolling two year period, the first indices will be available in 2008.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Elsevier as well as all our authors and reviewers for helping make ECRA one of the premier journals in e-Business research.

Description
The journal Electronic Commerce Research and Applications aims to create and disseminate enduring knowledge in the fast-changing e-commerce environment. A major dilemma in e-commerce research, which this journal aims to address, is how to achieve a balance between the currency and the life span of knowledge.

Electronic Commerce Research and Applications will contribute to the establishment of a research community which will create the knowledge, technology, theory, and applications for the development of electronic commerce, at the intersection of technological potential and business aims. The journal will focus on the evolution of design standards for the future as well as analysing past experience.

Electronic commerce is a multi-disciplinary area, which should be developed in co-operation with existing fields such as Management Information Systems; Business and Artificial Intelligence; Marketing; Business Strategy and Re-engineering; Knowledge Management; Computer Science; and Telecommunications. We will solicit papers on current technologies from these areas, as well as publish papers on completely new topics.

Electronic Commerce Research and Applications is inviting submission of articles in the following fields, but not exclusively:

Agent-based commerce; electronic auctions; eBusiness models; B2B EC; eConsumers' behaviour; customer relationship management and data/web mining; direct marketing; digital economy; eGovernment; electronic payment systems; eService industries; exchanges and eMarketplaces; extranet and intranet; international agreements for global eTrading; enterprise integration between EC and ERP; collaborative commerce; knowledge management systems; process re-engineering with EC; eProcurement management systems; protocols and standards; eTransformation of industry; security and trust; smart card applications for EC; supply chain management; mobile-commerce; Intra- and inter-organizational workflow management systems; XML/EDI; public policy and legal aspects of EC.
