Virtual special issue on Temperature Responses in Plants

Temperature changes during the succession of seasons or during days have a major impact on plant biology. Understanding the tolerance of plants to cold or heat stresses will thus contribute to the selection of adapted plants for the environment or agriculture.
The Journal Environmental and Experimental Botany (EEB) aims to develop knowledge about the mechanisms of the adaptation of plants to environmental factors, including temperature.
In recent years EEB has published numerous papers devoted to the study of the responses of plants to low and high temperatures with the objective of providing significant advances in this domain.
In this virtual special issue, twenty papers are presented related to this field of research. Eleven papers are devoted to the responses and adaptation of plants to low temperatures while nine articles deal with thermo-tolerance and responses of plants to high temperatures.
We hope this virtual special issue will encourage discussion among experts in this field and will attract novel and exciting papers to future issues of The Journal Environmental and Experimental Botany (EEB).
