Studies in Communication Sciences
Studies in Communication Sciences is an international journal of communications research. It aims to create bridges between different research cultures and publishes original articles of high quality not only in English, but also in German, French, and Italian.
The area of interest is the scientific analysis of public communication based on methods of social sciences.
As a general forum for communication scholarship the Journal is especially interested in research which crosses disciplinary boundaries. The journal is jointly edited by the Swiss Association of Communication and Media Studies (SGKM) and the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Università della Svizzera italiana (University of Lugano).
As SComS is based in Switzerland - and thus in the German, French and Italian-speaking intersection of the world, the journal wants to become a "showcase" of developments in communication sciences in these language areas, striving to link thematic sections to major conventions and symposiums in Switzerland.
Authors are invited to submit original papers that are not under consideration for presentation elsewhere.
The Journal publishes full papers as well as short articles, e.g. position papers, event reports, and book reviews. Comments on papers are also most welcome.
Studies in Communication Sciences is published two times a year. Each issue will contain approximately 250 pages. Each issue includes a Thematic Section focusing on a particular topic prepared with the assistance of a Guest Editor. Special Issues entirely devoted to specific topics are also published.
Information concerning the submission of papers for forthcoming thematic sections and special issues can be found in the Calls For Papers page.
