  • Jim Bennett has been an Associate Editor and co-Editor in Chief of Science of the Total Environment for over 10 years. He is an Adjunct Professor of Botany at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Research Ecologist with the U. S Geological Survey. He has authored over 100 papers on environmental effects on vegetation, including air pollution stress, lichens, plant competition, and wildlife interactions with vegetation. More recently he has been researching anti-prion activities of lichens. He has received several conservation awards and serves on the Natural Resources Foundation for the State of Wisconsin, the Natural Areas Preservation Council, and numerous other volunteer organizations
