- The Joint Committee of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) named eleven researchers as winners of the 2013 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the most important research award in Germany.
Among the prize winners is Prof. Dr. Vasilis Ntziachristos, Editor-in-Chief of Photoacoustics. Vasilis Ntziachristos is being honoured for his internationally recognised contributions to optical imaging.
