Wil Yu, is Director of Innovation at the Office of National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology. Previously, he served as Special Assistant of Innovations and Research at the ONC and Director of the Strategic Health IT Advanced Research Projects program, funding and leading several breakthrough developments in health information technology. As past Senior Advisor at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Center, he also assisted with initiatives supporting the exploration of new approaches to the development of innovative care delivery and payment models, including ACOs. Specifically, he helped lead the DC-to-VC effort that promotes market development, entrepreneurship, and investment in health technology through targeted engagements between policy-makers, innovators, and investors. As a former investment banker and equity analyst, he has experience helping emerging and mid-sized healthcare firms achieve strategic objectives through mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and equity offerings. Wil co-founded the Federal mHealth Collaborative, served on the HHS Innovation Council, and has led several efforts at the intersection of games and gaming in healthcare. He received his undergraduate degree and master's degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley.
