17th International Conference on Wear of Materials, Las Vegas, USA, 19 - 23 April, 2009

Description

Tribology International provides up-to-date information on the science, practice and technology of lubrication, wear prevention and friction control. This multidisciplinary field is approached from a practical standpoint, equipping designers, research and development engineers, mechanical and lubrication engineers, managers and scientists with the information that will enable them to minimize the cost of moving parts. Thus machinery can be made more efficient, more reliable and more cost effective.
Tribology International is an archival journal which aims to publish high quality original papers. These should encompass the best fundamental and applied science with an emphasis on its application to the finest engineering practice. The scope includes all aspects of science, technology and engineering which have relevance to tribology. This is also reflected in the publication of conference reports, book reviews, editorials, special issues, laboratory reports, news and letters.
Index bound in last issue of calendar year.

17th International Conference on Wear of Materials, Las Vegas, USA, 19 - 23 April, 2009
The 17th International Conference will focus on both the fundamental and applied aspects of wear and friction of materials at the macro-, micro- and nano-scale. Like past conferences in this series, two types of papers are invited: (1) full-length research-quality papers that involve modeling and understanding wear mechanisms, surface damage characterization, wear analysis based on carefully-designed experiments, and novel materials and coatings for friction and wear applications, and (2) case studies that describe effective engineering solutions to practical wear problems or the development of useful, new wear testing methods. Both categories of papers will be critically reviewed for thoroughness and technical quality. The Wear of Materials Conference provides a unique international forum for researchers and practicing engineers from different disciplines to interact and exchange their latest results.

2nd International Conference on Advanced Tribology 2008 (iCAT 2008), Singapore, 3-5 December 2009
Tribology has seen tremendous increase in its applications in many new areas such as micro and nanotechnology, bio-systems, aerospace etc. New types of tribological materials, solid/liquid lubricants and films have been invented for specific applications. Therefore, the aim of this conference is to present and record recent works that have been carried out in the areas such as tribology of materials, new engineered surfaces, application of tribological research and development to new technological and industrial fields, new coatings, novel lubricants.
