Elsevier Connect in the running for top honors as an ‘online community’

Selected as a finalist for PR News’ Digital PR Awards for outstanding digital communications

If you've been following us on Twitter, Facebook and our other social channels, you may have noticed that we share and discuss stories written by our employees and members of the research community for Elsevier Connect. This growing online community just turned a year old in September.

PR News Digital PR Awards

I'm glad to say we have another story to share: Elsevier Connect is a finalist for the PR News Digital PR Awards! We're excited to have been selected for the "Online Community" category, especially since Elsevier Connect is still new. 

The category recognizes "outstanding digital initiatives among corporations, agencies and nonprofits as well as the PR, marketing and communications executives behind the scenes who make these digital initiatives shine." I want to thank those who've worked hard to create it and keep it valuable and vibrant – and those of you who have contributed articles, which are being read by people all over the world.

If you're new to Elsevier Connect, please browse around to read the interesting stories on the latest scientific discoveries, publishing industry developments and what our company does to support the global science and health communities. And if you would like to learn more about how we use this site to connect better with our communities, I'll be discussing it at the upcoming STM Industry Association Conference in Frankfurt, after which I will make my presentation available. 

Wish us luck on November 5th, and in the meantime, we are seeking your feedback on how we can improve the site. So even if we don't win this year, we will next – but more importantly, we'll make Elsevier Connect even more useful and compelling to you.

Together, they work to build on Elsevier's reputation by promoting the company's numerous contributions to the health and science communities, many of which are brought to life in our new online community and information resource: Elsevier Connect.

Reller directs strategy, execution and problem-solving for external corporate communications, including media relations, issues management and policy communications, and acts as a central communications counsel and resource for Elsevier senior management. Additionally, he develops and nurtures external corporate/institutional relationships that broaden Elsevier's influence and generate good will, including partnerships developed through the Elsevier Foundation.
