A World of Water Resources

Christiane Barranguet, PhD 2013 is the International Year of Water Cooperation, as declared by the United Nations. Access to potable water is recognized as one of the grand challenges of the 21st century and touches nearly every country on the planet in one form  or another. The solutions draw on many areas of science, technology and medicine, with researchers collaborating across disciplines and continents.

"Few elements are so essential to life as water," said Dr. Christiane Barranguet, Executive Publisher of Aquatic Sciences at Elsevier. "The prosperity — and the survival — of our society depend on the supply of water for human consumption, food  production, industrial development and energy production."

To help you learn more about the complexities of water research — and perhaps come up with solutions of your own — Elsevier Connect will be featuring a variety of stories and resources. You can find them on this page, which we will continue to update.

Please feel free to share your own news, tips and resources in the comments, and we may even feature it in Elsevier Connect.
