Advances in the Management of Thyroid Cancer, An Issue of Surgical Oncology Clinics

Advances in the Management of Thyroid Cancer will focus on state-of-the-art basic science, pathology, clinical medicine, surgery, and technology. An update on surgical approaches as well as pre and post-operative management for early and advanced thyroid cancer is presented. Topics covered include the emerging role of the surgeon as ultrasonographer during fine needle aspiration, care of the immobile vocal fold, and the role of nerve integrity monitors. Breakthroughs in molecular biology, robotic surgery, and endoscopic approaches are discussed. Faculty from leading institutions will participate from the disciplines of General Surgery, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngology, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine and Pathology.
