High

Outstanding
citations
The graph shows strong growth in citations since 1986 and even more so
in recent years, where Elsevier’s citations have outstripped
the
market with an average growth of 15% compared to 5% for all other
linguistics journals between 2001 and 2006.

Growth in citations since 1985
was indexed to make a fair comparison of citation growth between
Elsevier and the linguistics field.
The
Encyclopedia of Language and Linguistics – 2nd Edition (ELL2)
In 1993 the first edition of ELL (Ron Asher, Editor) was hailed as
“the field’s standard reference work for a
generation”. Now the all-new 2006 second edition, edited by
Keith Brown, matches ELL’s comprehensiveness and high
quality, expanded for a new generation, while being the first
encyclopedia to really exploit the multimedia potential of
linguistics.
"an awe-inspiring project of
breath-taking scope, bringing together a distinguished list of
internationally recognized editors and authors." Mark
Steedman, University of Edinburgh
