Best paper award for the Science of the Total Environment
Elsevier is happy to announce the first "Best Paper Award" for articles published in Science of the Total Environment during 2004 and 2005. The winning paper is: "Recent climate change in the Arctic and its impact on contaminant pathways and interpretation of temporal trend data" by R.W. Macdonald, T. Harner, J. Fyfe and published in Science of the Total Environment 342 (2005) 5-86. Jerome Nriagu, Editor in Chief of the journal, states that this review paper won because "the paper provides a critical assessment of current knowledge and serves as a milestone for future research on the impacts of climate change on contaminant pathways in the Arctic. A measure of the impact of this paper comes from the fact that since its publication, it has been downloaded over 1900 times, making it one of the most downloaded articles published by STOTEN during 2004/2005." The STOTEN editorial team would like to congratulate the authors on this excellent achievement.
