Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing
Marking the publication of the 25th volume of MSSP, we are more than half way through the publication of a series of specially commissioned Invited Tutorial articles that we plan to bring together in a ‘virtual’ special issue when the series is completed early in 2012. Subjects already covered include rolling element bearing diagnostics, the Hilbert transform in vibration analysis, and operational modal analysis. The first in the series, on natural computing, is available here.
For an overview of the first 25 years, download Simon Braun’s editorial statement.

Microfluidics Engineering
Volume 66, Issue 7, Pages 1327-1522 (1 April 2011)
Edited by Anton Middelberg and Krishna Nigam
Microfluidics or micro-technologies, as it is called sometimes, essentially accomplishes the miniaturization of conventional process devices and enables the integration of reaction and unit operation elements directly with sensors and actuators. The miniaturization of devices achieves small process volume and hold-up, large specific transport rates and high surface-to-volume ratios. >> More
