During the 52nd Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, the Elsevier Aquatic Sciences team celebrated the Top 10 Cited Authors* from the journal. The corresponding authors were awarded with a certificate. Elsevier congratulates all the authors involved on this achievement.

Elsevier and the International Water Association: Announcing the Water Research Conference 2010 (Lisbon, Portugal, April 11-14, 2010)
The Water Research Conference 2010 will concentrate on one of the major scientific disciplines contributing to the field of water research: Microbiology. In this conference, we will provide a platform for exchange and interaction between microbiological research and its application; the provision of clean water to society.
The conference addresses two major topics:
- Shifting paradigms in the assessment of recreational water quality
- Microbial ecology of drinking water and waste water treatment processes

New Journal: Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability - Launch expected in October 2009
This year, Elsevier, will be adding a new, groundbreaking Current Opinion title – Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability. This new journal was developed out of the recognition that it is increasingly difficult for specialists to keep up to date with the expanding volume of information published in the interdisciplinary research areas of environmental change and sustainability.
