Dynamic of Atmospheres and Oceans
Dynamics of Atmospheres and Oceans - Expansion of Aims & Scope

Dynamics of Atmospheres and Oceans has expanded the aims and scope of the journal to include new topics in atmosphere and ocean dynamics. Examples include climate change and variability, prediction and predictability, scale interactions and atmosphere-ocean-biosphere-cryosphere interactions. Dynamic meteorology, physical oceanography and geophysical fluid dynamics remain topics of primary interest for the DAO audience.

Publishing Ethics Resource KitNew Feature: PERK (Publishing Ethics Resource Kit) Supporting our editors dealing with publishing ethics issues by providing guidelines & policies, recommended courses of action & sample letters

In March this year, Elsevier announced the launch of its Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK). The aim of this kit is to act as a resource and provide advisory support for addressing queries about issues such as plagiarism, authorship disputes, multiple submission and/or publication, and research misconduct: www.elsevier.com/publishingethicskit

As well as launching PERK, we are also active in other publishing ethics initiatives. We recently enlisted all of our journals into COPE (*www.publicationethics.org.uk ) – ensuring that our editors have an alternative authoritative source to refer to when dealing with complex ethical issues.

Dynamics of Atmospheres and Oceans
Current Contributions to Understanding the General Circulation of the Atmosphere Part 1
Edited by Richard Grotjahn
Volume 43, Issues 1-2, pp. 1-122) (April 2007)

The two collections provide a range of opinions about aspects of the general circulation. The first part of this Special Issue, Current Contributions to Understanding the General Circulation of the Atmosphere Part 1, published in April 2007, contained seven papers that sampled a variety of general circulation issues from regional to large scale. This second part of the Special Issue, the current issue of Dynamics of Atmospheres and Oceans is devoted to the subject of the general circulation of the atmosphere.

Atmosphere, Ocean and Climate Dynamics Atmosphere, Ocean and Climate Dynamics
An Introductory Text
By John Marshall and R. Alan Plumb

For advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students in atmospheric, oceanic, and climate science, Atmosphere, Ocean and Climate Dynamics is an introductory textbook on the circulations of the atmosphere and ocean and their interaction, with an emphasis on global scales. It will give students a good grasp of what the atmosphere and oceans look like on the large-scale and why they look that way. The role of the oceans in climate and paleoclimate is also discussed.

Dynamics of El Nino and the Southern OscillationDynamics of El Niño and the Southern Oscillation
By Allan J. Clarke

Many scientists either working on the El Nio/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) problem or its many applications have not been trained in both the equatorial ocean and atmospheric dynamics necessary to understand it. This book seeks to overcome this difficulty by providing a step by step introduction to ENSO, helping the upper level graduate student or research scientist to learn quickly the ENSO basics and be up to date with the latest ENSO research..
