Elsevier/MC Strategies Offers Completely Revised Online Joint Commission/OSHA Compliance Course
Helping Organizations Meet Regulatory Compliance Standards and Promote Safe, Quality Patient Care
Atlanta, GA, 03 December 2008 – Elsevier/MC Strategies announced today that the extensively revised Joint Commission/OSHA compliance course is now available. This online course includes 55 lessons that cover topics that promote relevant safety and high-quality care standards such as patient and environmental safety, as well as infection control and prevention.
For over a decade, healthcare organizations have relied on the Elsevier/MC Strategies Joint Commission/OSHA Compliance course to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and thus promoting safe, high-quality patient care.
The course also offers 23 lessons that have been translated into Spanish to help organizations provide education to a diverse workforce. The lessons are for all levels of staff working in the hospital, and will help keep everyone informed and up-to-date with requirements. Since the course is customizable, lessons can be adapted so that they reflect each organization’s policies and procedures. As a result, staff will learn to confidently interact with surveyors.
Each lesson in The Joint Commission/OSHA Compliance course is rich in multimedia elements, such as slide shows and flashcards. The course also includes interactive learning exercises such as line matching, drag and drop, and case studies with multiple choice questions to help learners engage with the content while testing their knowledge. The revised course features new lesson topics that will help staff demonstrate sustained compliance to standards. As appropriate, lesson content has been written at a targeted reading level to help staff quickly understand their role in compliance.
According to Cindy Tryniszewski, RN, MSN, Executive Director, Clinical eLearning at MC Strategies, “The revised Joint Commission/OSHA Compliance course helps educators provide a consistent message to learners about topics related to patient and employee safety and quality of care issues. Such measures help staff demonstrate sustained compliance to regulatory and accreditation requirements.”
“The Joint Commission/OSHA Compliance course offers clients a number of complementary value-adds, says Stephanie Bennett, RN, BSN, Clinical Editor at MC Strategies. “For example, both the English and Spanish lessons include optional audio narrations. Clients also receive bi-annual newsletter that outlines The Joint Commission’s updates to its standards. Clients have an opportunity to participate in our Question of the Month emails that answers common questions about Joint Commission accreditation. Clients also have access to supportive services such as, implementation training and assistance with rolling out yearly training.”
