Chief Financial Officer
Stuart Whayman has recently been appointed as CFO, Elsevier. Prior to that, he was the Global CFO of Reed Business Information, a position he held since December 2010. As RBI CFO, Stuart oversaw a significant portfolio change, including both acquisitions and many disposals. He led a successful margin improvement program and supported the business in its return to sustained and accelerated top line growth.
Stuart joined the Reed Elsevier group in 1998, after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG where he worked in audit. He spent five years in Reed Elsevier Group functions, which included leading business planning and analysis.
Stuart transferred to Reed Business Information in 2003. Prior to becoming CFO, he worked in a number of business-facing finance roles, during which time he was involved in the change of the business from a print publisher to an online information provider. He also supported a complete Finance systems implementation project. Stuart has an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University.
