Sebastian leads Elsevier’s efforts in the development of new electronic (i.e., web and desktop) products, tools, and services to improve the learning / teaching process. He has managed the development of three key e-learning efforts for Elsevier: the Evolve learning management system, Evolve Select, the e-textbook collection, and Evolve REACH, a suite of high-stakes assessment products. Sebastian is recognized by both academics and students as a thought leader in the academic e-learning market. He has worked actively with academics to improve available tools to better measure learning outcomes and competencies prior to the students’ entrance into the workforce.
Committed to sharing best practice in the development and delivery of e-learning with his peers, Sebastian has spoken at the eBooks in Education conference and the American Medical Publishers Association seminars on the future of e-learning and textbook publishing.
Prior to joining Elsevier, Sebastian was a Managing Director at Handshake Dynamics, a boutique management consulting firm specializing in media strategy. Prior to that, he was a Principal Consultant in Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ Information, Communications, and Entertainment Corporate Strategy Practice.
